Plot wise, the story
brings the readers and the main character Chise to a place filled with magic
and folklore. It introduces mythical creatures (wonderful drawn art), mages,
sorcerers, and later on witches.
As for the main character,
Chise is the passive type and one who cares less of herself. The pacing of the character
growth takes a lot of time as she is in the process of learning from the
challenges and struggles presented to her and from others (people and beings). It
is the same thing for Elias but much slower for him because he is neither human
nor fae --which affects his understanding of emotions.
Although character development
takes long and sometimes it is frustrating, the Ancient Magus Bride’s appealing
art and interesting plot is what carries the story and draws the reader to continue
reading it and following its updates.
